One place you can use to do price checking on car repairs is on Driverside.com - you can drill down to specific cars cause I think the price will change based on the specifics of a 03 impala.  They are still in beta but they have a ton of data on what car parts and repairs should cost. I used them for my last repair.

SInce you'll have to order a new handle from a dealer and have the handle put on I'd say $250. I had the same problem and solved it by never getting the outside door handle on the Chevy Impala fixed. I also had a 2003 Silver model.
