Whats are OS-Tans? i found them i don't know what it is though?

ive benn doing some expolring and i found an os tans but i have no idea what it is so plz help me i downloaded the ANIME client of it and im lost some one who knows how to use it plz tell me what to do

PS: one of the reasons i don't understand it is because its an ohter language...
