Im moving out to another apartment. I want to make sure that when i leave the apartment on the last, when i'm handing over the keys to the landlord there is actually a state inspector of some sort to be there in our presensce just to make sure that everything in my apartment is in ordre and theres no damage. Me and my wife has kept the apartment vert clean and there is absolutely do damage done to the apartment by us. But i dont trust my landlord. I dont know if he will intentially damage some thing after we leave and will claim for that damage. So for ease of my mind where can i get a state inspector who would inspect by place and give me like an offical doucment that everything is in order. So i dont get into any sort of trouble later on. PLease help!!!

  1. If you are in the U.S., there are no "state inspectors" to do that.  It is a private contract between you and the landlord.

  2. state inspectors won't do that

You do a final walk-through with LL after place is empty

Before your walkthrough with LL, you take photos of everything

Take a 3rd party with you on walkthrough, and ask LL for receipt that apartment condition was satisfactory and return of security deposit(he has 20-30 days most states).

  3. Are you kidding?

You want mine, and your, tax $ to pay INSPECTORS for this?

They get what?  300 an hour?

No, this is not happening.   This is a private contract between you and your landlord.   No public employees are going to be there holding your hand.

Take pictures.   Video it if you want, but this is yours, leave the tax payers alone.
