  1. What is the best?

  2. I think your referring to gravity feed to the hot water cylinder, hence my response.

As you've a 4 bed home possibly with more than one bath room I suggest an 215 litre unvented cylinder. As these are mains fed they can be installed anywhere in the house, including the loft. This must have pump circulation and have a zone valve installed in the circuit supplying it. And yes have a sealed system.

  3. Pumped is better than gravity but in my opinion a pressurised (sealed) heating system is the best

  4. Hi - going on my personal experience, Id say theyre about the same!I have a pump on my current boiler, I live in a 1 bedroom maisonette and the noise from this thing is ridiculous!

However, if it was a loft boiler then itd be a b*gger to get to... Perhaps call a local plumber or 2 and get their opinion :)

  5. A pumped system is more efficient.  A gravity system is quite good at heating the header tank in the loft.  It also contains more water that has to be heated each time.  With a pumped system you can heat and regulate the radiators separately to the hot water - so you don't have to keep a tank of scalding water in cold weather.

  6. i would think a pump fed is safer. Because you have more control of water levels there for better heat control
