  1. I always used newspaper.

  2. Paper is so unnatural. Try to make it as much as their natural habitat, they are most comfortable like that.

  3. either is OK, but the key is to change them often.  Mold and mildew can grow in a moist environment.  Because of that, the chipings may get expensive.

  4. my iguana loves the chippings, Ive tried to give it a variety of things including a tank full of water, so yea chippings will be the best choice

  5. get reptile carpet its easy to clean and easy for the lizards. I have two of my own and they like it better then the chipps and the papper

  6. well alot of people say chippings are bad because they eat it. but i've had my iguana for 3+ years now and he hasn't had any problems. my first iguana i tried paper and he kept eating the paper.

i actually have it half sand and half chippings i put the sand under the lamp so when he wants to keep warm he sleeps in the sand. because heating rocks are so bad for them bcz they can get burned.

and i have another tier where i have a fake pond thing i made with moss for cooling purposes.

but in my expieriences use chippings because you have to keep the cage humid by misting and by using paper it could get soaking wet and be a messy clean up.
