Whats better, 1080i or 1080p??

It depends on the size of the screen and seating distance.  The human eye cannot really tell a difference between 720p, 1080i or 1080p on screens less than 55" when sitting at a normal distance of 8 feet back.

When you go with larger screens the pixels become larger and then you start to notice a difference between 720p and 1080i.  It would take somebody with eagle eyes to see a difference between 1080i and 1080p, studies have been done and in A/B testing, nobody could tell the difference between 1080i/1080p with a screen less than 55"  No if going with a projector system, go with the 1080p.
