Ok i know 360 will be that bit better because it includes online backup, but i dont really need online backup, i only need a security suite, But i dont know which one to get, also i know norton slows down your computer but would any norton be alright on mine with the processer speed and ram.

AMD Athlon 6000+ x2

2gb DDR2 667

So which on shall i get?

Also i know some people will say avg but i read somewere that their "miss rate" is the highest then nortons "miss rate" is 2nd best, then nod32 is the best, but i have used nod 32 aswell but i dont really like it because it never lets me check any logs or firewall status or anything.

So which one?

Thanks

  1. i have norton anti virus 2008 and thats just fine many of the higher spec onces have unessisary feachers

  2. Norton 360 is better but you can get free software that just as good, Avast combined with Comodo Pro is very secure but uses half the resources.

Comodo Pro includes Defence+ intrusion protection as well.

  3. Download AVG, and Mozilla Firefox... they're just as good, free, and they don't run out.

  4. GET Norton 360 on line. AVG is c**p don't even go there.

  5. THE BETTER choice IS FREE:

Get these two that actually is RELIABLE !!!

    AVAST and AD-AWARE.

These FREE tools do an EXCELLENT job.

    A.

    Avast free Home Edition

    Get it here:

    http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.ht...

And please do a "thorough" scan as soon as you get it downloaded. The user interface is simple. Click the left side, and in the top menu that comes up, select thorough scan.

When it finds a culprit it throws up an alarm, then you DELETE the culprit, (do not quaranteen).

Then allow it to run all of the time, and you will be completely protected. It will "automatically" update itself, also for free.

You only need to renew your registration once a year, also free.

Note: I KNOW of several people who have used AVG and Norton and have gotten a virus anyway.

Don't go with Zone Alarm as it is hoggy and conflicting.

I've tried them all, and have had wonderful results with DEPENDABLE AVAST for the last 5 years.

The corporation I work for uses the Pro version, and has never has an incident. Avast is your answer.

    B.

Get free Ad-AWARE spy-removal tool from Lavasoft

    http://www.lavasoftusa.com/products/ad-a...

    1. Download, install and run this program weekly or more.

    ^j^

  6. We have always used Avast,,,,,,free for life.

Have never had any problems at all.

  7. Norton 360 ha features like back up and tune up...NIS 2008 have everything except backup and tune up

  8. NIS 2008 is pretty good. It doesn't like any other security running alongside it, but other on demand (ie. scan when you want like spybot) are fine to install as well. It seems to have little speed impact on an office type PC, but might affect on-line gaming. It does slow things down during boot-up, but if you normally hibernate or suspend that's not a big issue. There were problems with NIS and XP SP3, but there are fixes available now.

I use it and have had no successful attacks on my system in over 6 months

  9. Don't use Norton, try Kaspersky 2009 instead. Much more protection. Better value for money. Norton has better marketing skills, but is lacking in detection rates and overall perfomance
