I was wondering what is better to buy a gas scooter or a pocket bike. For ex a 49cc engine on both, whats more reliable and faster and worth the money. Also how much they cost and Are there any links to good motorcycle stores?

  1. Don't buy anything with 49cc's. Spend a little more and move up to 125cc minimum.

  2. Get a scooter and not 49cc if you want it for transportation, they are just toys and as such, don't last long of they actually have to be ridden regularly.

  3. i would say a pocket bike http://www.minipocketrockets.com/

  4. pocketbike is worthless if over age of 13.. (unless your a club racer for the bikes) the scooter for transportation purposes would be the wiser choice. There are 'scooters' out there that are the same size as a street bike. I taught my wife to ride on one. We had an  APRILIA RS50 it was a 49cc 'scooter' that had 6 speeds and would do bout 60 mph stock(with me on it 5'8" 155). Two stroke motor, plenty of mods out there i have seen footage of these bikes hitiing bout 95 mph tops with the engine mods. Derby also makes one. these bikes are basically euro race bikes from 49cc to 250cc.. However in  the U.S. the 50cc models fall under the scooter class thru DOT. so good to go best of both worlds.. full size pocketbike...they go for about $2500 used..

  5. A 49cc scooter will bring you much more enjoyment than a pocket bike.  It will fit you much better and will be much less awkard and more comfortable to ride.  I would recommend the Kymco Super 9 49cc scooter.  With a few mods, it will go 70+MPH with very good acceleration.  You read that right ;)
