im going on holiday to Turkey in a week - 2 star hotel and i have read reviews like "maids rummage around" and aparently the safety deposit box is at the reception which is easily acessible and is a rip off. So, should i store my documents in a suitcase with a decent lock on it?

thanksss =]

  1. No suitcase. No safe. Use a money belt and keep everything you call valuable in it. NEVER take it off except to wash. Even then, watch it like a hawk. The last thing you want is to be destitude or 'paperless' in Turkey.

  2. Jump is right...if it's valuable, keep it with you in a money belt.  Newer money belts hold more that just money.  You can buy ones that are large enough to hold your passport and credit cards.  Have all your tickets e-ticketed, so you don't have to carry them.  Also leave your valuable jewelry at home, why risk loosing them/having them stolen and regret your trip.  By the way, most hotels have in room safes these days.
