Whats better cat or dog and why?

They are both great companions you just have to look at your life.Will you be around enough for a dog.Do you have a closed in back yard?

Myself I have cats cause I go away for a few days and they are fine.I am in a small place and work 12 hrs a day so a dog wouldn't be for me.Cats are very independant where dogs have maintenace.But I do love all animals

It all depends on what kind of pet you are looking for.

Dogs -  are attention seekers, they love to be around their owners and love to be played with but they also require daily excercise, walks and depending on the size of them, a lot of room.

Cats -  like to do their own thing. Some like attention, some don;t. Some love to lay on your lap and sleep, some don't. The plus side is that they can use a litter box which means you dont have to go outside to walk them and if you have a smaller home they do well in them.

So basically think to yourself what your looking for in your life. All pets are great!

Having been in a pet-free home for my childhood (except for Guppie Fish), I always wanted either a dog or cat.  However, now we have 2 cats, and they are so independent and friendly.  They are low maintenence, and love to cuddle when you get home.  I would love a dog later on, but now, CATS RULE!  Also, the cutest thing in the world is when they roll on their backs to have you scratch their bellies.  That is sooooo adorable.  They are calming and sweet.

i would say that dogs are better...they are better cause they dont shed as much hair as cats and you can go out on walks with dogs
