  1. Kung fu. Its faster, unpredictable, simple but very lethal.

  2. My vote goes to Kung Fu San Soo. San Soo Kung Fu is also known as "Human Style" Kung Fu as opposed to one of the animal styles. It is a traditional and practical combat art. San Soo is not a tournament sport. A basic premise of San Soo is there are "no rules in a fight" and it incorporates techniques that aim to remove a threat as quickly and effectively as possible.

There are Five Families that comprise the Kung Fu San Soo system:

Tsoi: Punches, hammers, and elbow strikes.

Li: Balance, footwork, stances, transitions, kicking, and knee strikes. Take downs and throws.

Hoi: Leverages, nerve control, pressure points, grasps and open hand strikes. Allows small fighters to easily control large opponents.

Fut: Psychological, philosophical, spiritual, and strategic basis of the art. Characterized by the sudden execution of decisive action to end a conflict almost before it has begun.

Hung: Physical conditioning. Breath control and sounds. Power, strength, stamina, and dynamic tension. The development of Chi.

Not sure what "the heat" was saying about "kung fu is very outdated and involves very little practical training"

If you are wanting to defend your life, San Soo is a common sense fighting art. If you are wanting trophies, San Soo in not for you.

  3. I thought it depends on the martial artist, not the martial art.

  4. i have just asked why the UFC dont use Karate or Kung fu for that mater ,but they do use Ju Jitsu where Judo comes from

,my children have started a Judo club and it is full on but safe .

  5. none is best it is just an opinion thing i do lots of karate but my favourite out ot the 3 is kung fu and i personally hate judo.

  6. its hard to say!

kung fu is very outdated and involves very little practical training! though it depends on the school. it does teach you how to defend yourself but in my view takes years to learn to use in a self defense situation!

judo is good but it has branched out from the old for of grappling it used to be in the time of kimura to an olympic sport concentrating on ippon and point scoring! however its throws and chokehold can be practiced against a resisting oponent and would help you very much in self defense!

karate is a very broad term and there are many forms of karate and many schools!

some fors are diferent to others and are not free flowing! alot of karate schools teach toughness! the also teach striking technique! for use in defense it is good but not always effective especially against a larger oponent

so it ups to you to choose really! it depends on what you like as an art and a pastime

  7. gdrolfe1... I do not know where you get your information, but Judo was directly developed from JuJitsu. Kano took out many of the most dangerous techniques. This is fact and you can look it up.

As for the question none of the above. For one thing their are a tremendous amount of karate styles and even more Kung Fu styles. Each is different in it's own way.

I mean seriously stop, use your brain, get rid of your pre conceived notions and think. Any style can beat any other style depending on the person using it. A style cannot fight for you or defend you. You have to do that using the style. It is a tool, nothing more. What is most importent is how you use it.

  8. depends on what your desire is.  Do you want to strike or grapple?

  9. Uh to Andyclagg1, Judo does not come from Jujitsu. I'm assuming you mean Brazilian Jujitsu which came from the Gracie family. Brazilian Jujitsu actually came from Kodokan Judo. And in a fight if the Judoka got the Kung-Fu fighter or the Karate fighter the ground the the Judoka would probably win. I've never taken Karate or Kung-Fu (I only take styles that work), but I can say that Judo is a very good fighting style.
