  1. Rugby is better they are all pansies in football!

  2. Football (soccer) is less harmful and has more fans around the world.

    Its like the Life .

  3. Football

  4. rugby

  5. Football....always have doubts about guys playing with funny shaped balls ;-)

  6. Rugby is better than Football.

Football is alright, but I prefer Rugby.

It's the Rugby World Cup this year and we all have to wait another three years for the Football World Cup.  Let's see if Italy can defend the World Cup

  7. rugby! i really enjoy watching rugby, im even getting into leage. if you mean aussie rules, curling is better than afl, hand me a broom!

soccer football is great to play, and even though i love it, i have found it to become a bit boring to watch, which i hate myself to say.

soccer football in australia is woeful!!

perth glory has played 3 games, two at home, and all three hav been nil all draws!! for goodness sakes!!

    rugby is good

  8. if by football you mean soccer, then rugby is much better, soccer is so boring to watch, probably why they have hooligans, the most exciting about soccer seems to be the danger officials and other fans are put in when one team lose's, where as rugby fans go to the game or watch on the box and actually enjoy the game.

  9. Another person asking....

Rugger! All the way. Union, then 7's and finally League above Football.

  10. Rugby, any other type of football (american, soccer, australian, canadian, etc) its for *******.

  11. RUGBY- It can be hard as well as elegant. It is constantly exciting. Those who play it are tough sportsman.

Football is elegant only at times, more so when Brazilians play. But the way it is played now the players come across as pansies crying for a foul whenever someone touches their delicate legs.

  12. rugby is better I'll watch the rugby but not football I have watched every game in the world cup so far

  13. football is the word's most popular sport, it offers more in terms of entertainment value average attendances to a football game will always be more than that of rugby. So with that said i think its safe to say football is better

  14. It's a matter of personnal opinion..

I personnally hate wendyball, and love rugby.

  15. whats football to you? "soccer"? if its american football then.. id have to say american football...!!! WOOH!!! but much respect to rugby players..

  16. Rugby is better to watch and play. Football (soccer) has been spoilt by rules that are fast making it a non-contact game.It used to be a hard game but you only have to touch some of today's nancy-boys and they roll around in agony(diddums) and you are sent off or at least booked.

American football is one of the most boring games to watch. They play for what seems hours and the ball is in play for around 10 minutes. The rest of the time they are huddled together having a discussion or something. They are also protected by tons of armour.

  17. Given that you've asked this question under the "Rugby" category, I suspect most people will say that rugby is better.

Personally, while I think it's impossible to compare them objectively, I prefer to watch rugby.

  18. afl

  19. League or union? Football or gridiron?

All sport has its merits, I personally prefer football, but thoroughly enjoyed the opening weekend of the spectacle that is the Rugby Union World Cup.

  20. Rugby without doubt. I used like soccer but some of the games are so mind numbingly dull. I turned over to watch the Ireland- Slovakia match on saturday and could only watch for about 5 minutes before i nearly fell asleep. Absolutely nothing happens for the vast majority of the match.

At least in Rugby they are ALWAYS attacking because you have no choice. You cant just pass the ball around doing nothing for 20mins at a time.

Unless a team like Brazil and Portugal or United, AC Milan and Arsenal are playing its terrible to watch. The defenders for teams like Sunderland or Bolton normally just hack it up the field and the forwards are as incisive as a blunt wooden spoon through butter. There are very few teams which are good to watch and most of the games lack any sort of intensity. United vs Chelsea last season were the most boring two games ive ever seen and they are he two best clubs. Ireland vs France however was not the best quality either have played rugby wise but the intensity was amazing.

Soccer is only as popular as it is because it is so simple to play. You can play it with as little as 2 people so it is a great sport to play but as a spectator sport its c**p.

The way i look at it is I know many people who never watched rugby before until some friends started watching it and now its one of their favourite sports, wheras people who follow soccer often only follow it because they grew up with it. I dont know a single person who watched soccer for the first time and thought it was anything better than average. It will never take off in America for that reason. If rugby was as wealthy around the world as soccer is it would stand a much better chance of catching on in the states.

  21. Rugby without a doubt. More physical, more interesting.
