  1. Stargate, Indeed.

  2. Stargate

  3. Star Trek.

  4. That depends on how you define good. And to some extent your age.

I'm exactly yh right age to have seen Star Wars (epsiode IV) when it came out at the cinema, but not too old to have grown out of it by the time Return of the Jedi came out. And a lot of people within a couple of years of my age will go for Star Wars (but probably not the newer episodes). In addition, Star Wars was incredibly innovative and effectively invented the summer blockbuster, so even tho the scrit sucks, those films are important.

Likewise for Star Trek... The original series is part of popular culture and was innovative. Younger geeks tend to prefer the newer series, whereas older geek enjoy the kitchness of the original. But either way some of the ideas explored were new and interesting.

That said - I'm also old enough to have sen the Start Trek movies at the cinema - the first one was disappointing, the second one was awesome.

So Star Trek would come out second.

As for Stargate - the movie was pretty poor (very silly), but the series is significantly better. However, Stargate is much more popular with nerds/geeks than the public in general...

So 1) Star Wars (original 3 movies - episode V is best)

    2) Star Trek (original series + Wrath of Khan)

    3) Stargate...

  5. stargate.

It is the most real thing.

Warp drives are privvy to fantasy...and LightSpeed Hyper drives are also privvy to fantasy.

Stargates are wormhole physics...and although mainly theoretical, they seem to be more real in the plausibility of it.

  6. Starwars is not a series, but I loved Episode 1 and I liked Episode 2. Then the rest is at best OK.

Stargate, the film was very good. For the series I would say 1 in 5 is good science-fiction.

Startrek (the films are horrible) the series, TNG and Voyager and Enterprise: 1 in 3 is good science-fiction and 1 in 7 is excellent science-fiction.

  7. starcraft

  8. startrek

  9. they're all boring. star gate the movie was pretty good though. star trek is the most boring. they're just in that d**n ship all the time, and talk ****, and there are those annoying mutant humans with fairy ears (spock) and ****. the newest star wars was ok.

  10. star trek...

i didn't used to like any of them... star wars is mildly tollerable, if there's absolutely nothing else to do/watch.... stargate has it's intresting episodes, but i find myself most glued to my seat while watching either star trek voyager or star trek the next generation.

  11. tie between stargate and star wars. actually maybe stargate cause theres 10 season! and they do something new every time. well actually they had a lot of repeat stories... but so does star wars. theyre both so good!

  12. Star Trek by a long shot for me...

and I mean the original series. I don't care much for the rest of the spin offs.

    The first movie was horrible.

The second was, by far, the best of the lot.

The rest of the movies were laughable.

Whenever Hollywood trades technical effects for storyline the results are devastating.  That's EXACTLY what has happened to most programming (movies and TV)  today - not just Star Trek.

    IMHO.

  13. I liked Stargate before the Ori came into the picture, The Goa'uld made great ememies, also the Jaffa and Tokra are cool, but the Tollan were too stuck up.

  14. stargate is more interesting.
