Whats better to get, a cockatiel or a budgie?

Its depends what you want. Budgies and cockatiel are cute, intelligent  and lovely if you get a friendly bond with the bird. Budgies are a little more easy maintenance because  are smaller. Anyway I think you will enjoy any kind of this birds.

A budgie is cheaper than a cockatiel, but i wouldn´t  take care in the price to choice the pet.

I have two budgies, and they are great! They were my first birds. I recommend them as your first pet birds, because they are the easiest to train. Get two though, that way they always have company, and you don't have to be around them all the time.

I have a cockatiel and, if you want a bird that can actually chat to you, a cockatiel is the way to go, however if you get one that sqreeches, it may drive you crazy. My bird is 13, and hes a sweet little man, he'd tame, he talks, he's very clever and gentle, however he is a complete attention seeker, and will squawk at me if i ignore him. Budgies are smaller and softer sounding, but i've yet to see a budgie with as much character as a cockatiel.

If you get one, get it from a breeder rather than a pet shop they'll give them to you young and You'll get a better, happier bird.
