Whats better xbox 360 or ps3?

I want to buy one but i don't know what to get. whats better the xbox 360 or the ps3? I heard that you don't have to pay to play online on the ps3. can u tell me whats the difference.

I have both and only play the 360, i find it to have way better online play and way better games. The ps3 is now a dvd player for my living room. Also 360 is cheaper. Both are about the same value. 360 can have 4 controlers while i think ps3 can have 7 or something like that. Remember though most games dont have more than 2 for splitscreen so having 4 controllers is pointless.

This is an impossible question...which came first the chicken or the egg...just get what most of your friends have...but i will say this xbox is now ps3 is the future!!
