Whats borderline diabetes?

i just was told by my endocrinolgist that my test results from my glucose results from 2 weeks ago she did a blood test the one when i fast at late nite and early morning.... she says normally a normal person is at "90" and my results showed i was at "110" so she considers it to be borderline......scares me to death but my father says she can just be giving me a heads up so that i dont get there..... but i read on the internet that 80-110 is normal....so im confused please help me .....i have been monitoring my blood and it reads normal so i dont know..i monitor it when i wake up and 2 hours after eating and my father who has diabetes says the readings are normal... a lil summary about me im hispanic stand 5'3 and weigh 243 (yes i know im my weight is bad and after walking out her office started to diet) so to whoever can offer advice let me know.... what you think??

she also put me on metformin and in just 2 days of me taking it .....I WAS SICKER THAN ANYTHING....couldnt get out of bed sick....nasueated...bad dirraea which she said was a side effect but after experincing what i felt she told me to not take it no more......

  1. I was told this same thing about 35 years ago. Another doctor told me diabetes was like being pregnant. You either are or you aren't. I was given Glucophage,and it almost killed me. I don't do anything about my diabetes. It's because I just don't care. The only time it hurts me is when my sugar is too low. Then,I have to eat something fast! Don't do what I do. Moniter your sugar,and watch the carbs. This will also help you lose weight.


  2. Diabetes is generally 126.  Prediabetes is 100-125.  This implies that you have a 20% chance of becoming diabetic inthe next 5 years.  It doesn't guarantee you will become diabetic but plays the odds.
