Statistically, in terms of crime and fear of crime, it's supposed to be one of the safest cities in the UK. I go there from Bristol and really enjoy all that the city has to offer and "Brains" beer is the best.

What ever you do though, don't diss rugby or Dr Who!

btw, why did that answerer bother to say "never been there"? I mean really, what was the point?

The Capital of Wales is now a vibrant multi cultural European City. It has the biggest waterfront city centre in the EU. A new Mall is currently under construction which will become one of the largest shopping malls in the EU and is expected to become the buisest in Western Europe. Thosands of shops. 10% of the cities area is parkland meaning it has more parkland per head than any other city in Britain. It has brillant and growing nightlife and is considerd one of the party capitals of Europe. The $3billion International sports village under contruction will host some of the London Olympics which may include a 230meter high viewing tower like the one in Seattle and Toronto. Its one of the fastest growing cities in the United Kingdom in population and economy, the population in 2001 was  292,000 and in the offical estimate 2006 was 317,500 and the estimated population in 2008 is around 330,000 and the urban area expected to be over 400,000 from 327,000 in 2011 census. The area surrounding the city has a population of over 2million. There is 4 Universitys and several more close to the city. It has good links to London by Train and road. Really its just a brillant place to live. Also the city has beat Manchester to host the ashes and several major sporting events which used to belong to Manchester.

Cardiff is really a night life place real good bars and all down the centre don't get to drunk as door staff seem to only let the females in  as i discovered on stag do

cardiff is fab...

i live like 10 minutes from the town centre and its really nice...

its like a mini london that isnt confusing and really expensive...

and dont liisten to whoever sed that its full of welsh people who speak funni... if you want welsh accents you can go to north wales but cardiff is groovy :D

Cardiff is a great place if you are looking for a fantastic, energetic night life. It also has good shopping facilities. Cardiff college and UWIC are brilliant places to study. It is however, busy just like any other big, well known city. Hope this helps :-)
