Like by their actions?

By watching how people react to situations is telling you a true picture of their personality.

This is a psychology study = watching reactions to a person in different scenerios can produce, physical and emotional behaviors that are showing you who they really are.

For example - your on a crowded bus, and a handicapped elderly person gets on who if anyone offered this person their seat?

example - watch what makes a person angry,

does this person shout, swear, become physically irritated, = if they know you are paying attention, or listening do they say they were only kidding = it is hard to control yourself = and your reaction will show true feelings.  

Have you ever known someone who is cruel to animals or children = that is someone to stay away from = this is not acceptable and they are exhibiting unacceptable behavior - "showing you who they are"  and BELIEVE THEM!

it means when your girlfried lies to her parents about where she was... while she really was with you. How she makes this grandiouse lie with a 1000th of a second to think. And you watch her magesticly carve her way out of punishment and penalty. And this being the first thought 4 years later when she comes home with no lipstick on when she always wears lipstick. She is dressed like a runway model and her hair smells like smoke and her breath smells like Jose Cuervo.... And some how she lost her ID..... Well there it is!

i think it mean that when someone is showing their true colors, you should just believe that theyre acting that way because thats who they truely are. you shouldnt doubt them and think that theyre acting that way to impress someone...

Anyone can tell you who they are, what they do or how they will act in a certain situation.  With the words, you can pretty much listen, but not know the truth.  When a person acts or reacts to a situation, it shows who they are - that you can believe.

I can say I'm a kind person, but acting kind shows you who I am.  If I say I'm kind but act very mean to waiters, janitors or even family and friends then it is the actions you should believe, not the words.

The first time someone shows you that they are not what you thought them to be, you should believe that showing and not listen to the apologies, excuses or denials that follow.  Believe what they show you not what they tell you.
