  1. yes it is. France in general is a beautiful country, but Paris especially is amazing. the culture, the architecture, the cafes, the avenues, the river seine, the cathedrals, and the Eiffel tower. paris is the most visited city, and France is the most visited country for a reason, there a so much to see. paris is amazing at night, and the french language adds so much their culture.

as for the food in france, its delicious. hopefully u like seafood. and dont be afraid to try thing that may seem gross

(like escargots), theyre chewy but great!

words to know: a few phrases should do. for example, comment ca va?, cava bien et toi, merci, bonjour, au revoir,

je voudrais..., je m'apelle (your name), bonsoir, etc

also go in w/ an open mind. put aside all the stereotypes of french ppl and europeans. (but keep in mind that europe is much more liberal about g**s, so there may be alot of g*y ppl walking around the major cities like paris.)

hope this helps.and enjoy ur trip

  2. You are talking nonsense.  You're from the French city of Lille, right?  Yes, Paris is an amazing city - but is it so much different to your home town that you have to ask on here?  I'm sure they'll understand you.

  3. It is, I suppose, a matter of personal taste but for myself, I simply adore Paris. I went there for the first time about 35 years ago and have returned over and over again. I was last there in October of 2007.

Paris is one of the great centers of world culture and has been so for centuries. There is a concentration of art, architecture, philosophy, science, culinary expertise, and music that is unsurpassed.

When you are in Paris you will be walking in the steps of great thinkers and aritists from the world over.

Voltaire, Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, Napoleon, the Marquis de Lafayette, both Marat and de Sade, Hemingway, Picasso, Utrillo,  F. Scott Fitzgerald, Alice B. Toklas, Gertrude Stein, Noel Coward, Oscar Wilde, Jim Morrison, Edith Piaf, Ho Chi Minh,  Art Buchwald, James Joyce, and hundreds of other famous names have lived and worked here.

The food is excellant and, for the most part, nothing that will be all that surprising. The real distinction of French cuisine is not weird ingrediants but an attention to eating with the season, attention to detail, and flawless technique.

Don't be too concerned with language. It is enough that you say "bonjour" when you go into a shop or cafe and "au revoir" when you leave. Be sure to add "s'il vous plait" to every request and when ordering food/drink. You'll find that just about everyone in the service industry speaks at least a little English.
