  1. Bits of Co2 gases being pumped into the air which quickly is cutting larger and larger holes into the Ozone layer which is allowing more sun rays in which is gradually increasing the earth's temperature. This added heat is melting glaciers which is causing animals to die and oceans to rise. If we don't help stop Global warming now, things will get worse.

  2. Global warming is the increase in the average measured temperature of the Earth's near-surface air and oceans since the mid-20th century, and its projected continuation.

The average global air temperature near the Earth's surface increased 0.74 ± 0.18 °C (1.33 ± 0.32 °F) during the 100 years ending in 2005.[1] The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) concludes "most of the observed increase in globally averaged temperatures since the mid-twentieth century is very likely due to the observed increase in anthropogenic (man-made) greenhouse gas concentrations"[1] via an enhanced greenhouse effect. Natural phenomena such as solar variation combined with volcanoes probably had a small warming effect from pre-industrial times to 1950 and a small cooling effect from 1950 onward.[2][3]

These basic conclusions have been endorsed by at least 30 scientific societies and academies of science,[4] including all of the national academies of science of the major industrialized countries.[5][6][7] While individual scientists have voiced disagreement with some findings of the IPCC,[8] the overwhelming majority of scientists working on climate change agree with the IPCC's main conclusions.[9][10]

Climate model projections summarized by the IPCC indicate that average global surface temperature will likely rise a further 1.1 to 6.4 °C (2.0 to 11.5 °F) during the twenty-first century.[1] This range of values results from the use of differing scenarios of future greenhouse gas emissions as well as models with differing climate sensitivity. Although most studies focus on the period up to 2100, warming and sea level rise are expected to continue for more than a thousand years even if greenhouse gas levels are stabilized. The delay in reaching equilibrium is a result of the large heat capacity of the oceans.[1]

Increasing global temperature is expected to cause sea level to rise, an increase in the intensity of extreme weather events, and significant changes to the amount and pattern of precipitation, likely leading to an expanse of tropical areas and increased pace of desertification. Other expected effects of global warming include changes in agricultural yields, modifications of trade routes, glacier retreat, species extinctions and increases in the ranges of disease vectors.

Remaining scientific uncertainties include the amount of warming expected in the future, and how warming and related changes will vary from region to region around the globe. Most national governments have signed and ratified the Kyoto Protocol aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions, but there is ongoing political and public debate worldwide regarding what, if any, action should be taken to reduce or reverse future warming or to adapt to its expected consequences.

  3. It means I'm gonna buy stock in Trane and some companies that make shorts.

  4. An increase in the average temperature of the earth's atmosphere, especially a sustained increase sufficient to cause climatic change.

  5. The phrase global warming refers to the documented historical warming of the Earth's surface based upon worldwide temperature records that have been maintained by humans since the 1880s.

  6. Global warming is the rising of the temperature due to the increase in the amount of the Co2 in the air.

The atmosphere is pellicular so it allow the sunlight to pass and reach the earth (we know that), and  the earth reflect the sunlight back , due to the cumulative Co2 it absorbs the sunlight causing increase in the temperature of the atmosphere.

  7. EXCESS GREEN HOUSE EFFECT WHICH WARMS THE EARHTH IN A LARGE SCALE

  8. Really it is an advertising promotion designed to allow the oil companies to make the highest profits in their corporate histories. Here is an informative piece on just how far off the ball the AGW proponents are on Co2 and why their climate models based on their theories keep flunking when compared to real world results.

But then this kind of failure is what always happens when sound good religious ideas are stacked up against real scientific method. Those who use real science do not post a conclusion until they have had their theory validated by at least 4 others independently. The promoters of the AGW theory have never been able to accomplish this and in fact every real scientist who has tried scientific validation has become a firm member of the skeptics who deny the reality of this theory.

  9. Control, controlling public opinion/activities etc. it,s all about control

  10. Nobody really know, frankly.

Go to the library and look for the oldest book.  What is the earliest recorded temperature of the earth.  Do they have readings from 1000 years ago?  No way.

Modern geologists and geophysicists consider the age of the Earth to be around 4.54 billion years (4.54×109 years).[1] This age has been determined by radiometric age dating of meteorite material[2] and is consistent with the ages of the oldest-known terrestrial and lunar samples.

Statistically, a sample of 1,000 years, relative to 4.54 billion years would be inconclusive. Even if we knew the temperature of the earth from 1000 years ago, it wouldn't give us a valid comparison. In other words, we don't have enough data to define the word "warm".

Some people will tell you that the earth is "warming" due to human burning of fossil fuels like oil and coal.

In April of 1975, Newsweek magazine published an article that we are heading into another ice age.  The article states "that the present decline [in temperatures] has taken the planet about a sixth of the way toward the Ice Age average."  This was only 30 years ago that the scientists were predicting the globe was freezing over.  Now, they predict the globe is burning up.

Nobody really knows what global warming means.

  11. Gradual increase in the earth's surface temperature.

  12. It is a scam propagated by Gore , and even he does not believe it...

  13. well its result is end of earth . enjoy urself .

  14. * In simplest term GW is an abnormal process of increased trapping of terrestrial radiations by increased concentration of Green House gases, resulting in an increased temp. of earth atmosphere.

    * One more thing which qualifies to be mentioned here is that it is not only CO2 which is responsible for GW(as most people believe). There are six major gases(called Green House gase) which contribute towards this phenomenon. These are CO2, CH4, CFC/HFC, Oxides of N2, SF6, Perchlorocarbon and even Water Vapour!!

Now the harms of GW are:

    1. Melting of polar ice caps resulting in increased sea level(it would further increased with expn. of warm water.)

    2. GW will bring about changes in rainfall pattern and hence the agricultural areas and forest would be affected.

    3. Due to unfavourable conditions in certain areas, GW will also result in uncontrolled large scale human migration which will affect the peace and security and hence destabilise the world order.
