Whats going on with austrailia?

ive never seen them in the news. havent they done anything significant in the past couple of years?

that's because we are a really good country.

We are not allowed to have firearms unless licenced.

We have been multicultural since 1770.  The aborigines were here first.We have learnt tolerance and generally get on with each other.

Most of us believe in giving someone 'a fair go'.

Can you say the same things about where you come from?

Don't take this the wrong way but - as much as you are interesed in Australia and possibly news of other countries, people in general in the USA are NOT interested or even care that there is a world out there. I mean, having seen some of the really ignorant questions about Australia here in Y!A, I wonder if I ask a typical man in the street in the US where Australia is on the map, he wouldn't have a clue.

The media over there wouldn't put on anything much about what is happening about the rest of the world because you guys seems rather obsessed with your own world - no offense intended.

I mean.. when we get questions like... "I am going to Australia on vacation. Are there any ATMs there? And can I get hotel accommodation?" is there any wonder we think Americans are ignorant?

We recently voted the Labor Government in after 11 great and prosperous years with Liberal ,Labor mostly won because anybody under the age of 30 had never lived with a labor government and so had not experinced a recession ,rolling strikes and the like ,well we have Mr Rudd for th next 4 years and god help us all. We do not show on the Radar too much as we are perfectly happy to fly under it and keep it all to ourselves.

Nothing really. We've recently had a change of government so now the country is run by a half wit and that was  justified by the fact that the previous government had been in power for the past 11 years. Pfft!

Anyone who thinks that Kevin Rudd and the Labour party will do any good for Australia is seriously disturbed!

Wait and see the state of the country in 4 years time and then come back and praise Mr Rudd.

Quite a lot has happend.

We had a change of government at the end of last year. I personally believe the country is going down hill because of our new PM Kevin Rudd (more like Crudd).

Our interest rates are constantly going up.

We've had quite a few murders this year around the place. Some poor guy was shot dead down the road from me only the other week!

As you have heard from everyone else we have a new PM, absolute ******** if you ask me, come back in 4 years and you'll find a public sector that has been overworked, overstressed and has achieved little to nothing.

We held the APEC summit last year. One of our TV shows got within 500m of the US president with fake ID's and a fake Canadian convoy. That made world news, well how easy it was to crack the supposedly world class security.

We are having World Youth Day here later in the year, with the Pope and other important people no doubt.

Oh and our ******** of a Prime Minister is planning to make Australia a republic, which is completly pointless and a waste of our money.

We now have a better Prime Minister since we turfed out the brown nose lying tosser, John Howard.

The people are now free.  We should have locked John Howard up, whilst we were at it.
