I had major blackouts since i was a kid, and i still do sometimes. And i really don't remember my childhood overal. But then I feel like some of the stuff r slowly coming back. Like i am in the middle of something and all of a sudden things come to me, randomly. And i start getting a little tense but then it goes away quickly, but then sometimes it causes another blackout.I am kinda scared cause i had a blackout while driving last year, and i got into a serious car accident.I also had blackouts during school. i am only 18, i don't drink or do drugs. my mom keeps telling me to go see a dr. but i am scarred as to what the results will be. why is this happening to me????????

  1. I think you may have a particular food intolerance. This may be something new to you and doctors don't treat for it, but it can give some people "mental" type conditions.

You need to eliminate any particular food one at a time for 3-4 days and see if there is any difference in the way you feel. Keep doing that, one at a time, until you find the culprit. Keep a record of what you are eating and how you feel.

The other thing could be that you have an epilepsy condition. I still believe this is caused by food intolerance (although doctors don't believe so). You may find that you may cure the problem if you follow the guidelines above for food intolerance.

    peacefromken.

  2. my off the cuff thoughts:

    - stop driving

    - see the doctor

until you get to the bottom of the problem it is going to be a constant nuisance and as you have seen, a real danger to yourself and others. Besides it might well be some simple ailment that can be fixed up quickly and easily. But you won't know or be able to stop worrying until you find out for sure.

  3. see a doctor asap!!

  4. Blackouts can be caused by anaemia. But i'd go to a doctor and get them to find the cause

  5. listen to your mother before you hurt yourself or someone else

  6. see a doctor!

memory loss/flashes and blacking out can be caused by really serious problems like brain tumors.

be sensible and make an appointment.

  7. yea i'd get to a doctor and figure it out

  8. Living in denial of a possible problem will not make it go away, it just means you'll delay knowing whether what is wrong with you is treatable or not. Delaying seeing the doctor may make it too late to treat. Then you'll be beating yourself up because you didn't go to the doctor in time.

  9. in respect of democracy u should go to dr....

  10. I think the answer is rather obvious my friend. When people blackout it can be for any number of reasons. Lets get something straight. You're blacking out and not fainting. This being the case there is probably something very wrong that needs to be dealt with by a doctor. Wouldn't you rather know whats wrong instead of living in fear. I suggest you go to the doc and ask for an EEG it'll may help explain whats going on and it doesn't hurt (I know because I had it done when I was 15). You may also want and MRI or CT scan.

Do it. Think of your family. Think of yourself. Think of those around you who care about you!

  11. You shouldn't be scared of going to a Dr. They'll help you. I'd go to a Doctor before you get seriously hurt. :)

  12. I personally would be scared NOT to go to a doctor.

It would be far better to know what is going on and get help for this than to wonder and let things get even worse.

Why is it happening to you?    Only a doctor and a series of tests can determine that.    Noone can even venture a guess over the internet.

And you have no right to drive a car in your condition, you may kill yourself or someone else!!
