Whats going on with the Sharks and Brian Campbell?

Whats the word, will he stay or will he go?

Its been a soap opera with him.

The Sharks wanted to lock him up before the free agency period on July 1st.  Negotiations went well with Larry Kelly, Campbell's agent.  Still, a contract has not been reached.  So in the meantime, Doug Wilson has granted certain Eastern Conference teams (Senators, Rangers) permission to speak to Campbell.  And thats where we're at now.  

Looks like he'll test the free agent market.  I have a hunch he'll resign with SJ though.

he probably wants to play in a hockey town... you know with fans. and he wants more money

omg i don't know. a part of me wants him to stay but idk he kinda disappeared during the playoffs. my mom thinks he's getting way to greedy & my mom doesn't think he's worth what he wants. so who know's whats going to happen.? i guess we will just have to wait & see what happens.

What he is doing is simple... He was offered a contract that he felt wasnt quite what he wanted.... so he will see what comes his way and make a decision on where he wants to go. Also, lets say that Ottawa offers him something he wants but he wants to play in San Jose, he can go to San Jose and say "will you match it"...... bargaining power is what he is basically looking for when Free Agency starts!
