  1. If tomorrow the supply of oil ended, the world would be headed towards chaos and destruction because we are simply too dependent on it. The crude oil manufacturs many things such as gasoline for cars, plastic bags, and electricity in some places. Likely this would result in a huge war over natural resources and the deaths of much of the population.

However if this happened gradually, the world would gradually ween itself off oil and use more renewable sources of energy such as wind, solaror hyrdo for electricity generation. Gasoline could be subsituted with a more natural produce like ethanol.

  2. the world's gonna explode as oil holds the earth crust in place but we will always have oil cause the earth makes more

  3. just like the americans always do...they find an alternative.  They are already working on it.  We do not have an abundant source of oil (besides from where we are getting it now but we all know about that situation).  they are already comeing up with a lot of alternatives.  why do you think they have hybrid cars?

  4. well first of all let me just say that, no more oil could have many blessings in it's wake. You see oil is not the only way this would have of producing energy, we have just become addicted to it, much the same way as we have become addicted to Microsoft.

The technology exists today to run a car on tap water, I have done it myself on a much smaller scale (a lawn mower). A process called electrolysis was discovered many years ago. It is the process of extracting hydrogen from water (hydrogen being one of the cleanest and most efficient fuels on this planet). You can run down to your local home depot and pick up the parts to build yourself a very rudimentary fuel cell ( the contraption in which electrolysis takes place ) for just a few bucks. try googling "joe cell" or " meyer cell" or "hydrogen generator".

So you can rest assured that this world will not come to a screeching halt should we run out of oil.

    hope this helps.

P.S. .. there is more energy in one cubic mile of sea water than all the oil reserves on this planet.

    Just so you know

  5. If we don't have any more oils, then we can expect many important aspects of present day civilization will be affected:

factories will stop, food production will drastically plunge to its lowest point, peace and order will deteriorate, fierce rivalries among countries to get hold of what ever resources that they may have to shore them up from the crisis, civilization will virtually revert back hundreds of years.

What about atomic power plants to help us out?  I guess many developed countries would embark on a massive construction of such plants.  But, as we know it already, that will be in exchange for the greater hazards that atomic plants bring to our environment and to the people.

I could not imagine what chaotic scenarios we are all in if oil is finally gone.
