I'm 17 and with my girlfriend it's 4 o' clock in the evening. So we at the restaurant and she ask to use the bathroom. They give her a key cause the restroom is outside, so I go with her to watch out for her so nothing will happen. I'm standing outside the door a police shows up asking what am i doing that the restaurant complain that i was being suspicious i told him i was protecting my girlfriend, since the bathrooms are behind the restaurant by the alley. so then she comes out and then he ask for ID for "documentation" i gave it to him and wrote my information down. Whats going to happen Now? Am I in the System or what ? cause if so that will be some bullsh!t.

  1. Under the case law "Terry V. Ohio", The officer has the right to request ID.  It doesn't mean that you're guilty of something when they do this, or that you are under arrest.  Its to help out with any investigation that may result, and sometimes for paperwork.

From what I can gather, you weren't charged at all.  As long as you paid for the meal, then I don't see why you have anything to worry about.

Unless you were given a citation or recieve a citation in the mail (unlikely in this case) then you are NOT in the "system".

  2. The cop lied to you about the restaurant calling the cops.  And yes you are in the system now. And yes it was bullshit. The want to be cop that answered that you are not in the system lied to you to anytime a cop takes a report you are in the system.
