Whats going to happen to our economy when gas hits 5dollars a gallon?

and with the cost of food and utilities passing on the cost to the basic homeowner or rent owner with bills such as loans credit cars and being streched to the limit with everyday cost I want to know when is this gonna hit a dead end with the public and what might happen?....

I tend to think gas will soon be $10 to $15 a gallon!

I think it will be beautiful when this happens, the air will be cleaner, we will get back to nature.

The greedy U.S. capitalists use 25% of the worlds engergy when they are only 3% of the worlds population.

The tide is turning, the U.S. will lose its top world power degisnation and be equal with the rest of the world.

maybe someone with sense will allow drilling for oil where we have plenty of oil and we can hang on for 3 years to get it to refineries.

Same thing when people asked this question about $4 per gallon.  People will b***h and moan, but then do nothing different.

Americans are stubborn (and sometimes stupid) people.  We been told of the pending problem for decades and all we want to do is drill more oil holes.  There is NO shortage of oil!  Just too much demand that the greety oil companies can for people to pay.

Back in the 70's the OPEC countried decided to flex their muscle by cutting oil production (for no good reason).  Now the Exxon and other oil companies are just flexing their muscle by raising the gas prices (just for more profit).  They know we have NO CHOICE.
