  1. I do best with Night-crawlers!

  2. shrimp

  3. To be honest catfish eat anything.  I have caught many catfish on boilies which are in the same lake as the carp I am fishing for.  Put 4 boilies on a hair rig with a good braid on the rig so you don't get bit through. Put plenty of bait in a area and hang on.

  4. There have been so many questions all saying the same thing over and over again - from this site I'm beginning to think Catfish are the #1 gamefish...

size 1/0 hook   - cut mackeral  or catch a fish from the lake/river where you are fisihng     put 1/4 oz sinker on and cast out  into moving water...if it's a lake put only enough weight on to make the bait sink to the bottom.

stink bait works good - there are so many different types

I have even used cut up bars of soap with my grandfather on his trot lines... cut up a 3/4" square on a big hook

Remember catfish are drawn by smell NOT sight.

In rivers look for structure of sorts or anywhere where the water swirls around in a big pool - they will sit in ambush waiting for the bait to float by.

In lakes it's the same way... around structure - downed big trees or anything else in the water...

    Good luck

  5. chicken livers ,left out in the sun for 4 days,

dough ball with lots of vanilla in it

  6. before you go and cut up other fish you catch in the same waters check your laws and make sure it is legal; otherwise you can end up with a nice ticket for waste of a gamefish.  use anything that stinks and let it sit on the bottom.
