There are plenty of family friendly games for the wii.

How old are these girls and boys?

Boom Blox ('violence' includes throwing bombs at two-dimensional block animals)

Wario Ware (mischievous humor and tom-and-jerry-like violence)

Rayman Raving Rabbids 1 (toilet humor, comic violence)

Mario Kart (could be tricky for very young wii players)

These all have the advantage of being party games, which means the kids can play together, and only Mario Kart requires a second wii remote in order for them to do so.  In the other games, one to four people can share a single remote.  Have fun!

By the by, all those games are great for girls and boys, men and women.  There are some decent games out there targeted for one or the other, but they pale in comparison.  Mario Galaxy is quite possibly the best game out for the Wii, but very young players will have difficulty with the controls and the two-player mode is sub optimal.
