He can train more and he should have the new coach perhaps. It is very sad for me, I like Richard very much.  Perhaps he is sometimes not thinking he will win.

frankly,he just does not play matches well. he's got an extraordinarily beautiful game but he never seems to apply anything when he plays matches.

He's a tennis savant.  He's a great player, beautiful game, especially his backhand, but he is mentally weak.  He just doesn't have the instincts or heart of a true champion, at least not yet.

He has the game to compete with the top stars but sadly not the heart. He's been highly touted for success for so long... and repeatedly disappointed. You begin to lose faith in him ever living up to his potential. It's a shame but I see him being another Tommy Haas. He has won, and I'm sure will continue to win smaller tournaments, but looks like he will never break through and actually win a Major. What a sad waste of talent.

Agree with the sentiment in the earlier posts - technically gifted; mentally devoid. He recent performances are not going to do anything to strengthen his mental fortitude - I really think that match he lost to Querry at Monte Carlo. He had that match in the bag, yet somehow managed to lose it. He has flaked terribly since that match. Compounds the weak mentality already there.

Gasquet is most likely feeling the pressure of being a top 10 player. The hope of a nation is weighing  heavily on his shoulders.

Physically, Gasquet is unquestionably talented but mentally he is extremely fragile.

hez got da skillz but he dont know how to keep focused and play the whole game. when i last saw him, he played soooo good in the beginning even federer was having trouble. soon, federer aced every other shot...
