Didn't Georgia start all of this in the first place? They tried to **** over Russia and get back SO during the Olympics, and failed, and now that Russia has turned around (what did they expect was going to happen???) and started messing up Georgia, they want US help???? Should I be worried? Is this what happened? What are your opinions? Somebody please go in depth. If Russia is in the wrong, please tell me how. If Georgia is in the wrong, please explain.

  1. Georgia only tried to take back land that belonged to them, like the Russians did with Chechnya.  The problem is that Russia wants to call the shots in that region, and gave the traitors and rebels living in South Ossetia Russian passports so it could claim Russians were under attack and justify it's war of agression against Georgia.

You don't need to be worried.  This will only motivate countries to become friendlier with the US and EU and prompt many more to seek NATO membership.  Russia will make itself weaker in the long run with this kind of behavior.

  2. Georgia did not try to take over Russia! Russia attacked and invaded Georgia.

  3. With George Bush in the White House, you should be worried. The information coming out of the region is cloudy, and it's likely that the Americans already have a secret deal with the Russians to allow this aggression. What Bush says publicly is likely to be what the American public wants to hear. The American freedom of the press is constrained by profitability motive of the media.

  4. It's so funny to me that whatever happens anywhere in the world, there will be people who want to blame the US. Georgia was a former part of the Soviet Union. After the breakup of the USSR, Georgia declared it's independence. Recently part of Georgia was trying to become separate from Georgia, and the separatists were attacking Georgia. So Georgia started fighting back against the separatists. Russia says that some of their peacekeeping forces were killed, so that's when they got involved
