Whats happened to James Whale on talksport?

He was unfairly dismissed for trying to influence the result of the election for a mayor for London.So much for freedom of speech.To me this was a slur on the intelligence of the citizens of London.The result was allready known before James spoke.Mr Brown and the abolishment  of the 10p tax band saw to that.

I was going to ask the same question earlier! I'm so sad to hear what's happened to James and hope he has a great future. Perhaps he'll do internet radio as he often mentioned. I'm not fussed on the new show with presenter Max.

In May 2008, after a period of suspension Whale was sacked because he called on his listeners to vote for Boris Johnson on two separate occasions days before the 2008 London Mayoral elections. His agent, Stuart Hobday, said that Whale was "deeply disappointed", adding "He's spent 13 happy years at Talksport, he's saddened at the way this has happened and it's come as a huge shock." Ofcom are currently investigating the situation, following three complaints from listeners which led to Whale's eventual sacking.

Ofcom at it again,

talk sport HAD to let him go for fear of a big fine, it was explained to James and he excepted it,

James had been with the station since the beginning and it will not be the same again with out him.

they is lots a talk that virgin radio have been chatting with the whale, they did try and get him before.

whale says he as a few options but got no plans at the moment going to enjoy a few months out of the lime lite as he put it.

he still writes for the daily sport

There are clear rules forbidding broadcasters from election bias.

Ofcom (the broadcasting & communications regulator) do not allow for broadcasters to be politically biased in the run up to an election.

On one of his shows, James Whale clearly broke this code, by urging people to vote for Boris Johnson to become London Mayor. He was therefore suspended, and has now been sacked.

However, he has signed a contract with the shopping channel bid tv, to present some of their shows in the near future.
