  1. did u grow it correctly?

    Flower period   Middle season

    Vigour                 Medium

    Crop Yield          High

    Eating time       September to October

    Tree Shape          Upright then spreads

  2. Its just the June Drop.

The tree just can't support that many apples and gets rid of what it thinks is excessive, to produce good fruit and therefore good seed.

Its nothing to worry about, in fact to produce even better fruit most growers will go round the tree and thin the fruit even further. I usually leave 2 apples per stem.

  3. 'James Grieve' is a very reliable cropper but, like many other varieties, it is unable to swell every fruitlet that it may set as a result of pollination. Whenever the crop potential exceeds the ability of a tree to sustain it, nature steps in to relieve the stress, invoking what is called the 'June drop'.
