Whats happening in kansas on august 13?

my gma is taking me somewhere on august 13 and its supposed to be a surprise. So far I have two useless clues:

1. chairs

and

2. food.

It might be a restauranbt but I dont think she would hyave given me food if it was because that would be too easy. any ideas?
