sent mortgage application to bank, they phoned monday last week to say they have received it and that a valuer will be phoning to arrange payment.Not heard a thing so phoned bank up couldnt speak to person dealing with my application,another person said "oh it looks like she hasnt even looked at it yet, ill leave a note on her desk".what the h***s going on? are they incompetent or am i just to impatient? do you have to keep phoning to chase it up? Im sat here waiting expecting to here from the valuer and she aint even looked at it yet!

  1. You have answered your own question. They are incompetent. It's not a difficult thing to do and you would think  they would realise they have people's whole lives in their hands but they don't. It's the reason house sales take so long to go through. You'd think they wouldn't be very busy the state of the market at the moment...

    I'm sorry you're having to put up with this, you have my sympathies! Hope it gets sorted soon... just thank heavens you can do your own job a lot better than they can do theirs!

Personally, I would change mortgage lenders.  As the property market stands at the moment, they have no excuse to have not looked at your application yet.  It's not as if they are run off their feet because houses aren't really selling quickly.  If you are in a position to do so, i.e. not bound by any agreements etc., opt to use a different lender who will be more competent and deal with your application more efficiently.  

    If they are this incompetent at this early stage in the transaction, you have to look at how they are going to be when you are due to complete the purchase and you need them to send the mortgage funds to your solicitor.
