  1. who cares

  2. Wasn't he doing some boxing with Anthony Mundine?  Maybe he couldn't handle playing second fiddle to Mundine.  After all, Mundine's the best at everything, according to Mundine.

  3. I dunno, but he is a junkie b*****d who sucks up all the medias attention. He is so full of himself and i am an eagles supporter, i should LIKE him coz he was such a good player for our team.

  4. he has left the game indefinitely to recover, i dont think he will return

  5. He is recovering from the drugs, Poor s**y thing =(

  6. He'll be back hopefully better than ever next year.

His short comeback for the Eagles was great, first match back he got over 30 possessions, so his form shouldn't be too bad.

With the shortage of talent which will be forced on the teams by the 2 new Gold Coast and Sydney teams, players of his calibre should be in massive demand, so as long as he can stay away from the drugs, then his future should be fine for the few years until he retires.

  7. Now this is only my opinion. He is reconditioning, training, maturing all in the hope of being a better person and clutching the second chance that everyone derserves to come back as an inside midfielder for the Collingwood Football Club in '09.

  8. dunno

playing for eathier freo or pies next year in 09 as a midfileder

  9. I really don't know.

  10. I think that he might play next year.

And take into account that he's being having meatings with Mick Malthouse.

He could be playing for collingwood!

  11. JUST when you thought Ben Cousins would end up as the next big guest on Andrew Denton's television show, it appears Cousins wants to be the next Denton.

In a peculiar case of art imitating life, Cousins is spending his year out of football with adocumentary crew in tow, chronicling his recovery from drug addiction.

As part of the film, Cousins will interview leading sports figures and other fallen idols, such as Wayne Carey and Gary Ablett, about their experiences and also his own.

Cousins's choice of interview subject in Melbourne yesterday sent tongues wagging in AFL land, where Cousins is still considered to have a chance of resuming his professional sporting career at the end of this football season.

As television crews were gathering at Collingwood's Lexus Centre headquarters for a weekly press conference with coach Mick Malthouse, Cousins was spotted strolling through the glass doors.

Unfortunately for the Magpie Army, any thoughts of Cousins being in contract negotiations with Malthouse about the 2009 season were short-lived. While a club spokesman would confirm only that Cousins has caught up with his old West Coast coach for a quiet chat, Cousins's manager, Ricky Nixon, was more forthcoming.

"He was interviewing Mick Malthouse for his doco," Mr Nixon said. "He is following himself for a year.

"He has interviewed Mick and Kevin Sheedy this week. It is about what they think of him, what happened and what he needs to do. It is not just about Ben; it is about drug taking and all that stuff."

Mr Nixon said the film was being produced by his management company and Cousins would own the rights.

He believes the film is worth doing irrespective of its commercial value. "It is a good idea because it puts more pressure on him to get himself right."

Cousins was sacked by the Eagles after his shirtless arrest last October in the middle of Northbridge, Perth's red-light district, for drug possession and refusal to submit to a drug test.

Despite both charges being dropped, he was banned by the AFL for 12 months.

Recent reports of Cousins's improved condition have fuelled speculation he will play for a new club next year.

"If someone had rang me and said I saw him walking out of the Lexus Centre after talking to Mick Malthouse, I would be putting two and two together as well," Mr Nixon said. "Unfortunately, the answer is not four."

  12. hes doing a doco at the moment, i think he will play footy next year, but not sure if it will be AFL, maybe VFL
