Question:

Whats happening with my body?

After 2 years of being on the pill, my husband and I are TTC. The last pill I took was in early June, and since going off of it, I have not had a period. I've taken 6 pregnancy tests with at least 5 days in between them and all have said negative. I know sometimes it takes a while for your body to adjust after being on the pill, but does that adjusting mean not ovulating or having a period? Also, what can I do to try and help my body ovulate again? Thanks for any help.

  1. Don't worry!  Your body was used to the extra hormones supplied by the birth control pill, now it takes a while for your body to adjust to the change, it's common for women to either have very irregular periods or none at all for 2-5 months months, i have even heard of women not getting their periods regularly for up to a year.  To check if you are still ovualting, you could get a basal thermometer to check your temperature and use a temperature chart to see if you are indeed ovulating.  Good luck!

  2. go c a doctor.  RE might prescribe clomid to ensure that you ovulate

  3. See your doctor about this.

  4. Its very normal not to have a period for a while after coming off the pill, I didnt have one for 7 months when i stopped taking it. As for whether you still ovulate etc im sorry i dont know so cant help you there.

    Good luck ttc x
