  1. knife is harder, because there is much less to grab, and more area to get hurt.

With a gun you just need to make sure the hole on the end isnt aiming at you.

  2. It depends on your reflection!*

  3. karl this is hunting

anyways, knife. its easier to hurt someone with it. h**l i could kill you with a knife(don't forget, im a bit of a pasifist, in my right mind i wouldn't). a gun can be easily snatched away (No sharp place)

  4. I'd say a knife, but I'm sure a pistol would also be

hard to take from someone.  It depends on the training

the person disarming the weapon has had, and the strength needed.

(If someone is putting away kitchen knives and someone asks for the knife, the person is not being disarmed!)

(By the way, what type of  "animals" are you

tracking?   If close enough, bears can take either weapon!)

  5. In a knife fight you get cut. Commonly people cut themselves just attacking someone with a knife. That being said in a gun fight you are going to get shot  if you don't have a gun.

read disarming techniques for knives and guns. ... In most cases they are the same. If stabbed I am willing to squeeze the knife in to get control. I would not do that with a gun. A knife in your side can only stab you once. a gun can shoot you many times at different angles.

everyone here is saying knives are harder. I bet if given the choice they would rather get in a fight against someone with a knife before the gun.

  6. Yeah, this it the hunting forum alright.  But where the h**l else is someone going to ask a weapons related question?  Just be thankful it is not a question about scavenger hunts, guns in video games, or toy guns.

The answer to your question depends on the skill levels of the people involved.

If the person holding the handgun is trained in weapons retention, it won't be easy to disarm him.  Same for someone trained with a knife.

There is one truism about knife fighting.  If you get into a knife fight, you are going to get cut.

So I'd say that if you are trying to disarm someone, you will get cut in an attempt to disarm someone with a knife.

Attempting to disarm a man with a gun from a side by side location is a bit iffy.  I believe that you would probably have a better chance of disarming a gunman without injury, but I also believe you have a better chance of getting killed in the attempt to disarm a gunman

    Doc

  7. Both, either one can get you dead if not executed correctly.*

  8. If you need to disarm the deer before shooting it, you're hunting in the wrong neighborhood.

    This is the HUNTING section.
