  9. Grapes, like other vibrantly colored fruits and vegetables, are full of phytonutrients. This class of nutrients is separate from vitamins and minerals, but they are essential to good health. Because phytonutrients help plants defend themselves against environmental harm, scientists believe they may help the human body protect itself against some cancers, heart disease, etc.

  10. They contain vitamin C and others, plus the red ones have antioxidants.

  11. there are lots of healthy things about grapes.

-The tiny seeds in grapes are packed with wrinkle-fighting antioxidants and super-softening oils.

-Not only are they an easy fruit to pop in the lunch box, dress up a dessert or just munch on as a snack, they have many nutritional advantages. A 3/4 cup serving of grapes contains just 90 calories, no sodium, no cholesterol and virtually no fat. However, they do contain vitamin C and potassium as well as a small amount of fibre and, despite their sweet flavour, grapes are actually a low glycemic index food.

There is even some compelling evidence that resveratrol, a key phytonutrient found mainly in the skin of grapes, has anti-inflammatory properties which have been linked to the prevention of specific types of cancer and to a reduction in heart disease. Recent studies show that resveratrol may also contribute to increased longevity, prevent premature cell death and inhibit the proliferation of breast cancer cells.

This active substance is also credited as the key behind the beneficial effects of drinking red wine. A recent study showed that drinking four or more glasses of red wine per week reduced the risk of prostrate cancer by half.  The same amount of resveratrol can be found in about 21/2 cups of fresh grapes. Furthermore resveratrol has also been linked to improved brain health and is believed to have the potential to protect against some neurological diseases.

  12. They are nutritious, and rescearch says that they are packed with some kind of vitamin that is kind of like a skin smoother that soften and reduce the wrinkles in skin... go grapes! :)
