Miami is known for high humidity and Yuma is known for low humidity or a dry heat.    Both are equally uncomfortable.    Unfortunately, South Florida gets hit with hurricanes and Arizona does not.   I live in South Fl and have survived three major hurricanes so far since 2000 when I moved here.

It's really a tie as far as which city has more unbearable heat in the summertime.    I don't think you can make a comparison based soley on the heat factor alone.

On the basis of temps alone, Yuma would win hands down with an avarage daily summer temp of over 105 + Miami has a much higher degree of humidity though creating a higher heat index with a lower temp, in other words 90 in Miami feels hotter than 105 in Yuma. Miami has a lot more fun in the summer for sure with the beach so even with the humidity I'd pick Miami between the two.

Miami has a lot more humidity, but Yuma gets way way less rain so it's brown and dusty.
