  11. It is mostly ice milk that is similar to the soft serve ice  cream.  It also has milk and artificial flavoring.

  15. milk, cream, ice, chocolate, put it all in a blender, press purade, and ta da, you got yourself a milkshake.  :)

  16. No. Its a paste with vanilla flavoring. trust me, mine came out orange one time and tasted nasty and I was like "Somethings wrong with my shake..."

and they said "Oh its just the paste! We'll get you a new one with some of the vanilla in it."

I left before they got back.

  17. It's their ice cream, milk and some powdered flavouring or whatever.

And to the person who said they put seaweed in ice cream, it's actually red algae which stabilizes the ice cream so it's not coarse and grainy. I thought everybody knew that...

  18. you combine the liquid mix, or powdered depending upon brand with 2 gallons of milk into the machine, stir and wait, then dispense into a cup, blend and voila.  That's why it is "triple thick" its basically soft serve ice cream

  19. Not quite ice cream, but it is dairy based.  There is a premix with a consistency like heavy cream; it's used both for the shakes and soft serve ice cream.  For the shakes it isn't frozen quite as much, and flavored syrup is mixed in.

If you need specifics, check the McDonald's web site; they list the ingredients for everything they serve.

Note: The 'seaweed' is a substance called carageenan, which is in fact extracted from seaweed.  It's there to keep the texture smooth and keep the shake from freezing into a solid block.  There isn't much and it won't hurt you.
