Whats in the racing bussiness?

ok so i want to get into a racing career but i don't really want to go into nascar kinda thing just for the fact i know i ain't gonna make it to the big times are close i was looking at geting into racing in car tuning shows or something...but what else is there in the racing bussiness?...how much mnoey would i make?...what courses should i take in highschool?
