  1. Tofutti - many of their flavours can give Haagan Dasz a run for its money.

Swedish Glace - the new recipe vanilla tastes like ice cream used to taste 50 years ago, before it got bland and boring.

Booja Booja - expensive but absolutely THE best vegan ice cream.

Edit** do any of the people repeating 'cream is dairy' own a dictionary at all? Some of the definitions:

*the fatty part of the milk which rises to the top if the milk is allowed to stand

    *anything resembling cream in consistency

*any of various dishes, cakes, biscuits etc resembling or containing cream

    Can't out-pedant me :)

  2. Both So Delicious and Decadent are really good.  Very close to the real thing.  Even the plain vanilla is good.  I like the cookies n creme and mocha.  The texture of Tofutti is off-  I don't like it as much-  but the one with the chocolate bits is yummy.  The chocolate bits help it out a lot.

  3. Tofutti - vanilla

and tofutti cuties cookies n cream

Im not even vegan (yet) and Im lovin these!!

  4. None. Unless you like sorbets? Ice cream made without dairy is like a vegetarian sausage - stupid and pointless.

  5. I like Tofutti (sp?)

But I'm not too sure about the flavor.

I've only tried their vanilla and their ice cream sandwiches (which aren't that great to me).

Do NOT get So Delicious. I tried it before, and it tasted like original soy milk in ice cream form.

  6. we eat a lot of sorbet or sherbert or whatever (we call it flavored ice, so i dunno, lol) and fruit popsicles in my house....i'm an ice cream addict but i'm lactose intolerant (not that it stops me from eating cheese, which believe me i'm working on).  we like the kind of popsicles that are all fruit and fruit juices.....and we have special trays that we can use to make our own!  you just puree some fruit, add fruit juice (and sugar if you like) and freeze.....it's a natural, healthy treat! we also like to use coconut milk and coconut shavings in these, which is really, really yummy and also very ice cream like =)

here is a link to the popsicle molds:  http://www.kitchenworksinc.com/18600/Pop...

EDIT:  i realize that you're not lactose intolerant, btw, but these are obviously dairy-free so they'd work for a vegan, too =)

  7. Soy Delicios

    &

    Tomberlies vegan raw ice cream

    mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!

both are absolutley amazing because they are FULL of flavor!

  8. i love sherbet because its good its great and its no fattening in it

  9. Are you lactose-intolerant?  if so, then Breyer's makes FANTASTIC Lactose-Free Natural Vanilla ice cream ..... TOFUTTI CUTIES are great little "ice cream" sandwiches, but made with frozen soy ......for totally NON-dairy though, you'd want to get a sorbet (NOT sherbet, which has dairy).  Hagen Daz has wonderful raspberry, mango, lemon & chocolate sorbet.........

  10. not really ice cream but....

did you know that rice and oat milk freeze just fine. We make ice lollies our of rice milk and liquidised fruit in those silly little plastic containers with the sticks in.

If your kitchen isn't stocked with products from the 1970's ( aka ice lolly makers ) then you can freeze the rice/liquidised fruit mixture in any container. When you want some, leave out fo the freezer for five minutes and scrape off curls of sorbet into a dish.

A fruit/milky thingy without the cow stuff.

  11. Turtle Mountain's Purely Decadent is really good.  I love the chocolate peanut butter one because it's really rich.  If you like coconut, they've come out with a line made with coconut milk.  Coconut Bliss is another coconut milk-based ice cream that's really rich and creamy.

  12. TX2 stp, vegans don't eat dairy. Hagen Daz is dairy, and Topcat is a vegan. I'm sorry you are getting some rude answers.

Swedish Glace is available in most big supermarkets. Flavours include delicious Vanilla, Raspberry, Strawberry, Chocolate, Mocha & Chocolate and Caramel. Their Choc Ices are also excellent

Tofutti is another fantastic brand.  Look out for Better Pecan, Madagascan Vanilla, Strawberry Supreme, Chocolate Cookies and Vanilla Chocolate Fudge.  They also produce Rock’n’Roll, which is rather like Vienetta – but dairy-free of course!

First Glacé Oat Supreme is another excellent choice, available in health stores

Mother Hemp has its own gorgeous range also: Vanilla, Strawberry and Mint Choc Chip, made from creamy hemp seed milk.

    Available from health stores

  13. Turtle Mountain has good soy ice cream sandwiches, soy ice cream, and coconut milk ice cream.. I also like Rice Divine.
