just doing some research for a project. in terms of amount of adherents what is the largest church in america.. i am assuming catholic but just wondering if anyone knew for sure?

What you may be interested to read though is that the number of Christians in the US has been declining at about 1% per year since 1990.

As of 2004 Christianity was tolled at 224,437,959, and yes the biggest Denomination Is Roman Catholic, followed by Baptist, but Baptist is close and among the protestant christian sector which when totaled is a much larger percentage then Catholic.  Judaism takes second and Islam is third.
