Shortest Route:

Mysore-Gundulpet-Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary-Sultan Bathery-Kalpetta-Calicut

The entire stretch from Gundulpet to Kalpetta(Capital of Wayanad district) is scenic. On the way you can also stop at Wayanad wildlife sanctuary and you can go for wildlife safari in jeep (arranged by kerala forest department , Timings: 7 a.m to 6 p.m)

Mysore to Gudalur via Mudumalai & Bandipur WLS.  At Gudalur take the Sulthan Bathery route, the road on the left goes to Ooty.  From Sulthan Bathery follow the road signs to Kozhikode.  You will enjoy the best of scenic Wynad district.  The entire stretch is extremely scenic and beautiful.  Look at Google Earth for topography and check mapmyindia.com for road routes.
