i think i want to become a midwife

whats it like? the pay and things, whats it like having someone deliver a still born

  1. In the US a midwife is a RN who does extra studies. It is kinda like a masters in nursing. I'm not a midwife, but you have to be a very strong person to go into a field dealing with newborns. Babies die. Babies have problems at birth. Babies get injured being born. While it may never be your fault you have to be a strong enough person to be able to go home at the end of the night and continue your life after delivering a still born baby. I know it is something I could never do. I dropped out of the nursing program at college because I realized I always bring my work home with me and I couldn't take the sadness of the medical field.
