  1. That ALL depends on where you live and what the cost of living is. Try reasking the question but this time give a general idea of where you're at.

But as a general rule, it can be pretty expensive living on your own, especially if you have a minimum wage job. Do you already have a car payment? Then you have to also consider gas, insurance and upkeep. I'm sure you probably have a cell phone, so there's a bill.

You need to look at home much you bring in, how much you pay in bills for non-house things, how much you spend on gas, etc, then see what you have left.

Where I live, to rent a house will run you at LEAST $800 a month, and that's if it's tiny or falling down. Electricity can be anywhere from $120 to $300, just depending. You also have to account for cable, internet.

I would do some research on the cost of living in your area, then make an estimated budget and compare it to your current income.

  2. Apartments go for $500-$1000 for 1 bedroom depends on location. Power is about $50 a month average. Water should be free and cover by the rent. Gas might be about $17 a month depends on if the water heater uses gas. Cheaper to share a room with someone.
