  1. Yeah, extremely hot, especially if you're from up North like me.  Houston ISD is horrible, very unsafe, the better school districts would be like

    Spring ISD

    Conroe ISD

which tends to be on the outskirts or suburbs.

Every club you go to in Houston kicks you out by 1:00 am as big as this city is the city of Houston has a curfew law, so every concert you go to ends at midnight as well.

Houston has a lot of stupid laws, for example you can not buy alcohol at certain times or certain days, i can't remember I'm from up north, never had any stupid laws like where I'm from.

Police will pull you over for almost anything here because they have nothing better to do, so beware.

I hope you don't mind living around Mexicans because they're everywhere, they out number the white people , people aren't as racist as they used to be 10 years ago but you are in Texas so expect a bit racist attitudes around here.

  2. Yes its hot in the summer. (its been about 105 for the past week or more) But in the late fall, early winter, it will get cooler. a couple times during the winter we will get "texas snow" ( a mix of snow, sleet and ice) Depends on where you are as far as school districts... every district is different.  hope this helps :-)

  3. Texas is a mighty big place.  SW Texas is mountainous.  The panhandle is flat and windy.  East Texas is known as the Piney Woods.  North Texas is plains & lakes.  The center of Texas is the hill country. South Texas is on the gulf coast.  All of Texas is hot in summer and mild in winter.  The panhandle gets the most snow.  The Dallas/Ft Worth area gets snow/sleet a couple times a year and it's gone the next day.  The rest of the state seldom gets any.  As for public schools, the districts differ as they do every where.  Suburban schools are usually better than the ones in major cities.  There are several well known colleges -- Univ of Tx, Baylor, Texas A & M, Southern Methodist Univ, Tx Christian Univ, Rice Univ, Tx Tech, Hardin-Simmons. People live in cosmopolitian cities, suburbs, small towns and out in the country.  Texans love to drive and the conjested roads show it. The only thing they love more than their truck or car is football.  Texans are friendly -- don't cross them and you'll have a friend for life.

  4. very hot & humid,  people are friendly, party state.  lots of art shows, museums, restaurants, concerts, depending on if you live in a big city, or out in 10 buck 2.  they have pretty good schools, especially colleges.

  5. Texas is a big state.  I lived in San Angelo which is a little town in West Texas and in Houston.

It's extremely hot from early spring to the fall and the eastern part of Texas is humid.  West Texas is arid.

For secondary schools  whether the school is good depends on your neighborhood.  There are a few noted universities in Texas.

Texas is basically it's own country and the people are "Texas this and Texas that."  I drove along I-10 from California and stayed in Houston for a weekend a couple of months ago.  I have no desire to live in Texas again.   El Paso stunk like crazy.  Houston is overcrowded, dirty, with too many people driving.   And all the drivers were rude and unfriendly.

It's just not cosmopolitian enough for me.

  6. ohhh texas, it is VERRYYYYYY hot and humid! especially in houston.

but its also very nice, and busy.

some parts are ghetto, and the other parts are high-class and sophisticated.

    the schools are very good.

we have some of the best schools down here :D

    overall its pretty nice.

  7. Hot, flat, lots of Republicans, good economy (currently)...  Schools are a mixed bag - you just have to do your research online before picking a neighborhood to move to - otherwise you might accidentally find yourself living in an area that has abysmal schools.

  8. Yes, it is extremely hot here (northeast Texas).  And humid.  But Texas is very large and diverse, so it depends on what part of the state you are talking about.  We have the tall pines in east Texas and nice lakes.  Farther south on the coast, you will find beaches and palm trees (Galveston, Corpus Christi, Brownsville, etc).  There are the rolling hills of Central Texas, known as the "hill country", like the Austin area.  We have "the valley" area, which is south of that, such as in Uvalde.  We have the dry desert-like areas such as in El Paso and west Texas.  Up in the panhandle (Amarillo) it is vast and flat and often snows in the winter.  There you might see huge air turbin farms and great big cattle ranches.  There are the big cities like Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, Austin, etc.....and the small rural towns where you can live the simple life.  In far east Texas, along the Louisiana border around the Caddo Lake area, it looks much like the bayous of Louisiana.  There you'll find swamps with cypress tress with lots of Spanish moss hanging everywhere and gators are common.

I could go on and on, but you probably get the picture by now.  Texas has alot to offer and I wouldn't choose any other state to live in.

  9. It's hotter than  sh**! I wouldn't go outside for NUTHIN!
