  1. Its a great place to live.  Lots of culture with tons of museums and art galleries.  Great 9k. canal to skate on in the winter and a superb tulip festival in the spring.  Lots of activities for people who enjoy outdoor sports, cycling, skateboarding.  Because it is a city that has lot of civil servants, it is pretty much dead at night or on the weekends.  Everyone goes back to their constituencies in other cities.  Only a lot of tourists.

  2. I lived there for 4 years while attending university and I liked it. It is a beautiful city.  I did find it expensive compared to my hometown but now it seems like everywhere is expensive.

Ottawa is a relatively small city but it has most of the things a large city offers.  When I was there the crime rate was not too bad, I don't know about today.  Driving around can be difficult, there are a lot of one way streets and bus only routes, but once you learn the area, it's okay.

Someone else can probably give you a more current view of the city, but I have very few bad things to say about it.

  3. I love it. Besides travelling almost everywhere for 2 years, I have lived in various locations throughout Orrawa my entire life. The culture is vast, there is always lots of festivals/art shows/concerts from local bands of all geres. Although local events aren't always advertized well, you hear about them through friends. I find it easy to meet people in Ottawa as well. I feel that Ottawa is a little overpriced, but I don't mind seeing as I am still discoverig what Ottawa has to offer.
