  1. My hubby has worked with autistic adults for many years and there are different levels. but his are very severe and need constant care and supervision/acting out kicking biting spitting hitting and you should go to a group home and visit to see what the workers deal with on a daily basis first to see if it something you could handle. Not all people have the patience and stamina to do that sort of work it is very demanding.

  2. my brother has autism and constantly requires attention. the severity of autism ranges alot

  3. It depends on how mildly or severely a child is affected with Autism.

Autism ranges from Low-Functioning Autism (LFA) to High-Functioning Autism (HFA).

  4. I'm sure it's a very rewarding job but it unfortunatly doesn't pay for teh amount of potential harm that can be done to you.

  5. Incredibly rewarding! Some skills you really need to have: patience (bucketloads!), understanding, lateral thinking, more patience, open ness, a sense of humour (most days I laugh at what my students come out with: sometimes it's laugh or cry!). You also need excellent communication skills and be able to relate to both parents and kids. Did I mention you need patience?
