Whats it mean if an artical has been ignored by the mainstream press?

  1. One of the functions of the media is that of "gatekeeper" -- deciding what information is deserving of time or space. Journalists consider many different criteria when making this decision -- including the magnitude of the event, proximity to the reading audience, the unusual nature of the event, and the time-sensitive nature of the information.

    An article may also be rejected because it is poorly written, because the information it contains cannot be corroborated or because the article contains elements which are libelous.


  2. I'm not sure, but by the way it sounds I would think it means that the big hitters or magazine articles and news papers did not think of the article as something important enough to print.

    Maybe some other time.
